My Approach
You are here because on some level you know that life can be better. It is possible to feel, think, and actually live more in alignment with the ways that we really want to. It is not easy and takes work. Psychotherapy is a highly effective and proven tool that can help get us there. You just have to find the right therapist which can be challenging.
To me good therapy is an interplay between art and science. In a direct and collaborative way, I blend current research and evidence based practices with compassion and creativity. My approach is warm and
active and draws on several theoretical orientations. It has been shaped by many years of working with individuals and couples, and training other psychotherapists.
I believe that your history profoundly influences how you experience yourself, how you manage your feelings, and the overall quality of your relationships. While making sense of the past and working through it is often a large part of the work and fundementally informs my approach, I am also versed in a variety of techniques rooted in other traditions. I am comfortable working with a wide range of issues and use tools from psychodynamic therapies, solution focused and cognitive based practices, mindfulness based practices and the dynamic field of coaching.
I love the work that I do... and find meaning and vitality working the space between tradition and innovation to bring about positive change and growth.
